"Instruction begins when you, the teacher,
learn from the learner;
put yourself in his place

so that you may understand…
what he learns

and the way he understands it."
-- Soren Kierkegaard (1813 - 1855)

Don’t judge each day

by the harvest you reap
but by the seeds that you plant.

Homeschooling Approaches and Curriculum
(and everything)

By Julie Shepherd Knapp, copyright 2006

Well, you've made the decision to homeschool...
and now you're wondering how to take the next step -- how to choose the homeschool approach that's
best for your family.

The growing popularity of homeschooling has created a huge market for homeschool products, and
homeschooling parents are faced with an ever-growing selection of homeschool methods and
curriculum.  Choosing the right approach can be very stressful on parents who are new to
homeschooling.  The most important thing to remember is -

                             Don't Panic.

The information in this guide will help you to narrow down the choices, and let you focus on a few
approaches that seem right for your family.  Hopefully, after looking into the possible approaches, and
reading the reviews,  you'll feel more confident that you are making an informed decision on which
methods or curricula will best meet your child's needs and your family's educational goals.  If you'd like
some help narrowing down your choices before you begin your search -- try taking the Homeschool
Diner's
Click-O-Matic Quiz -- it'll help you see which approaches you might be happiest with, based
on your child's learning preferences, favorite subjects, and personality, and your concerns, too.
