"Catch the Spirit of Volunteerism" -- an informational brochure shows
the many ways that kids can volunteer in their communities


USA Freedom Corp for Kids -- lots of ways kids can give back to their
communities

USEPA Environmental Club -- learn about environmental projects in your
community and find ways to help


Volunteer Match -- find community service opportunities of all sorts in  
your zip code area


Youth Service America -- YSA envisions a global culture of engaged
youth who are committed to a lifetime of service, learning, leadership and
achievement


SERVEnet -- enter your zip code or choose by metropolitan area, or enter
your skills, interests, and availability and be matched with organizations
needing help


American Red Cross -- Start or join an American Red Cross club for high
school aged students, or participate in a Red Cross Service Project


Service Canada Youth.gc.ca  -- charitable giving and volunteering info
for Canadian youth ages 15 to 30


People to People International -- to enhance international
understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and
humanitarian activities, several student programs available  

KidProj -- an online community where students join and/or design global
projects and see what others around the world have contributed.  Lots of
current and ongoing projects to choose from, multiple languages.

Peace Games -- an organization that provides classroom training to
children and families in conflict resoultion, cooperative games, etc.

YouThink! -- answers to kid's questions about global issues, from the
World Bank
